William (Bill) Turner

Head of Capital Markets Group, Insurance Asset Management

Bill Turner is head of the Capital Markets Group (CMG) at MetLife Investment Management (MIM). This group integrates the management and sourcing of assets and investment product liabilities through a centralized team focused on actively managing spread margin businesses, within a disciplined asset liability management framework. These activities include Securities Lending, Funding-Agreement Backed Notes, Federal Home Loan Bank advance programs, Farmer Mac advances, and Funding-Agreement Backed Commercial Paper programs.

Bill joined MetLife in 2000. After helping construct MetLife’s strategic sourcing capabilities in Corporate Procurement as well as building the IT Governance framework in Finance, he transitioned to MIM in 2007 working as both a portfolio and product manager as well as being involved with asset allocations. He has been in the Capital Markets Group since 2008.

Bill received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and his MBA from Columbia Business School. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York.
