Chief Risk Officer

Claudia Cromie is head of the Portfolio Analytics and Risk team. Cromie is responsible for providing analytical risk support for portfolios managed by MetLife Investment Management (MIM), and overseeing portfolio positioning against investment views and strategies. She assumed this position in 2018.

Cromie joined MetLife in 1990 as a credit analyst and has held a variety of investment positions, primarily in corporate credit analysis. She was a founding member of MetLife’s London Investments office from 1993 to 1996. Following her relocation back to the United States, she served as chief of staff to the chief investment officer. Cromie subsequently worked in a number of areas, including private placements, private equity, public high yield and leveraged finance. She ran the workout unit from 2005-2011, was the credit strategist from 2011-2016, and ran credit research until she assumed her current responsibilities.

Cromie received her undergraduate degree in economics from Trinity College and holds an MBA in finance and international business with honors from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She is a CFA® charterholder.
